Peter Rose APFS is a Chartered Financial Planner and Pensions Specialist with over 50 years’ experience advising private clients, families, and business owners across the full spectrum of financial planning. His work centres on bringing clarity to complex financial arrangements — ensuring that decisions made today continue to support clients and their families over time.
He focuses particularly on the transition into retirement and the years that follow, helping clients structure their affairs to support sustainable income, capital preservation, and long-term planning. His approach is measured and straightforward, grounded in experience, sound judgement, and a clear sense of responsibility to the clients he advises.
Peter has been working intensively with financial advisers on the pension inheritance tax challenge created by Finance Act 2026, which received Royal Assent on 20 March 2026. From April 2027, unused defined contribution pension funds enter the IHT estate for the first time. For clients over 75, the combined IHT and income tax charge can reach 67% — leaving beneficiaries with as little as 33p in every pound.
The Flexible Pension Annuity eliminates both charges: income tax on death benefits from day one of transfer, and IHT after a two-year qualifying period through Business Property Relief under s105(1)(bb) IHTA 1984. Peter works directly with financial advisers to identify affected clients, provide personalised illustrations, and support the recommendation and transfer process.
Peter holds the Advanced Diploma in Financial Planning (APFS) from the Chartered Insurance Institute, the highest professional qualification in UK financial planning. He is authorised to provide regulated financial advice through Aetas Wealth, a trading style of Insight Financial Associates Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA No. 458421).
